Overview
I've always been drawn to the field of medicine. My father is a family practice physician and my grandfather was a dentist. I knew I wanted to become a doctor since I was very young. Growing up playing sports, I had my fair share of injuries and time on the exam table. I try to take those patient experiences and apply them to my physician practice to provide an objective but compassionate approach to patient care. I am originally from Brainerd, Minnesota, however I spent three years living in St. Paul while I completed my residency at Regions Hospital. Joining a well-established and reputable Foot and Ankle Surgery Department was an easy decision for me. I love this area and the abundance of cultural and sporting events, lakes and parks, and opportunities to get out and explore the community. I am a huge Minnesota sports fan, and in my spare time I try to watch as many games as I can. I enjoy golfing, mountain biking, snowboarding and getting outside with my dog. Growing up on a lake, one of my favorite activities is lounging on a boat in the middle of the lake with some friends. I am a member of the following professional associations: * Minnesota Podiatric Medical Association (MPMA) * American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) * American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS).

My goal as a foot and ankle surgeon is to improve the health and lives of my patients by resolving their pain, restoring normal ambulation, preventing amputation, and maximizing recovery after an injury. I am particularly interested in finding the best methods to treat complex foot and ankle fractures, deformities, infections, wounds, and arthritic conditions. I also enjoy teaching these methods to podiatric medical students, foot and ankle surgery residents, and practicing surgeons. Professional leadership activities at HealthPartners allow me to focus on important aspects of health care, like patient safety in the operating room and patient experience in the clinic. I also enjoy teaching at a number of medical conferences around the country each year and assist with the management of the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, which is the flagship journal of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
