Sarina Bains, MD, is a fellowship-trained endocrine surgeon with Atlantic Medical Group. She is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, and in endocrine neck ultrasound and ultrasound-guided thyroid biopsy by the American Thyroid Association. Dr. Bains specializes in the comprehensive, personalized surgical treatment of patients with disorders of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands. She manages routine surveillance of thyroid nodules, performs thyroid biopsies as well as surgical treatments for Graves’ disease, multinodular goiters, thyroid nodules, and thyroid cancer. She manages parathyroid diseases including primary, secondary and tertiary hyperparathyroidism and parathyroid cancer in patients of all ages, as well as management of adrenal gland diseases include Cushing’s syndrome, primary hyperaldosteronism, pheochromocytoma and adrenal incidentalomas.The author of numerous published articles in peer-reviewed journals, Dr. Bains is an active member of multiple national organizations dedicated to research and patient care including American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES), American Thyroid Association (ATA), American Head and Neck Society (AHNS), Association of Women Surgeons (AWS), and the American College of Surgery (ACS). She is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.After earning her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, Dr. Bains completed her surgical training at Saint Barnabas Medical Center (now Rutgers NJMS-Cooperman Barnabas) in Livingston, NJ, which included a year of dedicated surgical and translational science research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. She subsequently completed a comprehensive clinical fellowship in endocrine surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College/New York-Presbyterian Hospital, New York City.Dr. Bains believes in compassionate, personalized and team-based care. He works in collaboration with other specialists to provide patients leading-edge cancer treatments in a safe environment.
