Overview
Dr. Martin is a board-certified and fellowship-trained specialist in infectious diseases. His clinical interests include immunocompromised hosts, transplantation and infections related to mechanical circulatory support. His research interests include antimicrobial stewardship, population health and optimization of inpatient care. Dr. Martin earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee. He completed his residency at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, and his fellowship in infectious diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Martin is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in infectious diseases. He is Geisinger's director of the Division of Infectious Diseases.|In his free time, Dr. Martin enjoys reading, playing guitar and collecting “Star Wars” memorabilia. This native of St. Louis, Mo., loves chocolate and shares his home with a border terrier named Ben Kenobi.
