
Overview
Nicholas R. Mahoney, M.D., is an Oculoplastic surgeon at the Wilmer Eye Institute's locations in Bethesda and Baltimore, Maryland. He is the chief of Wilmer's Oculoplastics Division. Dr. Mahoney specializes in surgery of the tissue surrounding the eyes, including the eyelids, eye socket (orbit) and tear drainage system. This includes removal of benign and malignant lesions of the eyelid and eye socket, repair of eyelid and eye socket trauma, reconstruction of the tear ducts and surgery for correcting abnormal eyelid position. Eyelid surgeries include surgeries for drooping eyelids, extra eyelid skin and heavy eyebrows for both functionally reconstructive and cosmetic reasons. Dr. Mahoney received his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Scheie Eye Institute, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He then completed additional specialty training as an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) fellow at the Wilmer Eye Institute and Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Mahoney joined the Wilmer faculty in 2012. He has held various administrative responsibilities and is currently the Vice Chair of Information Technology & Data Science for the Department of Ophthalmology.

Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center
Dr. Robin Yang is a pediatric craniofacial surgeon in the Johns Hopkins Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Director of Pediatric Plastic Surgery. He is also the Division Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dentistry in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. His areas of expertise include orthognathic surgery, pediatric oral and maxillofacial pathology, and congenital craniofacial deformities. Dr. Yang received an undergraduate degree in psychology from Emory University. He earned his doctorate in dental surgery from the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Yang completed residencies in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center/R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and in plastic and reconstructive surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. He performed a pediatric craniofacial/plastic surgery fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in his current position in 2019. Dr. Yang has received many awards and honors, and he is board eligible with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Nasr specializes in the advanced treatment of trauma and critical care injuries in children and serves as the Medical Director of the Pediatric Trauma Program. He is trained in both robotic and minimally invasive surgical procedures and is skilled in the management of congenital colorectal anomalies, also holding the position of Co-Director of the Pediatric Colorectal Program. Dr. Nasr joins Johns Hopkins from the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, where he completed fellowships in both surgical critical care and pediatric surgery. His basic science research interests include studying the inflammatory response following traumatic brain injury in the pediatric population. Clinically, he focuses on implementing systems-based methods to enhance the care of pediatric trauma patients. He also leads a multidisciplinary pediatric colorectal clinic that has a national and international referral base. Dr. Nasr treats conditions such as Hirschsprung disease, complex anorectal malformations (including imperforate anus), and OEIS complex (cloacal exstrophy).
