Overview
Dr. Heitzig grew up in Michigan, where he attended the University of Michigan, earning degrees in both English Literature and Doctor of Medicine. Go Blue! He is happy to have moved to the much warmer climate of Maryland with his wife, Dr. Jill Durfee. They have two children, both in college—one a future dentist and the other a future physician. In his free time Dr. Heitzig enjoys serving on medical mission trips, landscaping, traveling, and hunting with his son. He is grateful for the many families that he has had the privilege of working with while at FPCA.
