He completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship and Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. His research interests include advanced endoscopic techniques, general gastroenterology, the gut microbiota, and hepatology. He has presented numerous abstracts and an oral presentation at Digestive Disease Week. He has a background in Biology with a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He worked for two years at the Hussman Institute for Human Genomics at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, where he researched the genetics of neurological diseases.
