Dr. Charles L. Wilmer received his undergraduate degree from Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts. He received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia and completed an internal medicine internship and residency and a cardiology fellowship at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Wilmer is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. He is a fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians. Board certified in endovascular medicine, vascular medicine, interventional cardiology and cardiovascular diseases and internal medicine, Dr. Klein is an fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention.(SCAI). An expert in complex coronary and peripheral intervention, he is a member of several SCAI committees.In his spare time, Dr. Klein enjoys spending time with family, including his spouse Christina Klein, M.D., who is a transplant physician at Piedmont, and their two beautiful children. Dr. Klein is an avid exercise fanatic having run several marathons and triathlons. He is also an outdoor enthusiast having backpacked across Joshua Tree National Park and summited Half Dome with Christina when they were residents together at UCSF.
