Overview

Eric B. Lieberman, M.D., is a cardiologist with Johns Hopkins Community Physicians Heart Care and Suburban Hospital, where he previously served as chief of the Division of Cardiology. Dr. Lieberman has expertise in angiography, angioplasty, cardiac catheterization, cardiovascular diseases, echocardiography, high cholesterol, interventional cardiology, preventive cardiology, smoking cessation, and coronary and valvular heart disease. Dr. Lieberman earned his medical degree from Emory University. He completed a residency in internal medicine at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Duke University School of Medicine. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Lieberman served as a Major in the United States Air Force. He was an attending cardiologist for the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, as well as the director of cardiology research and the medical director of the cardiology clinic. During this time, Dr. Lieberman earned the United States Navy Commendation Medal. Dr. Lieberman currently is a member of Suburban Hospital's Cardiology Product Review Committee and Interventional Cardiology Quality Review Committee. He was previously on the Physician Advisory Council. Dr. Lieberman was also previously the medical director of Holy Cross Hospital's cardiac catheterization laboratory. Dr. Lieberman is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, as well as the secretary and treasurer of the Maryland Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and a member of The Maryland State Medical Society. Dr. Lieberman has been repeatedly named a Top Doctor by Washingtonian Magazine, a Best Doctor by Washington Consumers' Checkbook and a Super Doctor by the Washington Post magazine. He has also been named a Top Doctor in the Washington-Baltimore area by Castle Connolly. Dr. Lieberman has been a principal investigator on several cardiology clinical trials. Dr. Chrispin directs the Ventricular Arrhythmia Ablation and Research program, focusing on using advanced cardiac imaging to better understand the structural substrate associated with the development of ventricular arrhythmias and using artificial intelligence to improve the risk stratification of sudden cardiac death. Further, he is involved in developing clinical trials to improve the safety and efficacy of catheter ablation for the treatment of ventricular tachycardia. His work has led to Dr. Chrispin publishing in a number of international journals, including Circulation, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm Journal, Nature Cardiovascular Research, Journal of the American Heart Association, and EP Europace.
