I decided to pursue a career in family medicine due to its emphasis on caring for all patients regardless of their age or illness and getting to know patients well. Family medicine also emphasizes preventative care at the population level, which I am passionate about. The health care landscape in the United States can be very challenging to navigate, and I enjoy helping my patients get connected to various resources and specialists so they can live a healthy and happy life. My approach to patient care is providing my patients with the most up-to-date information and allowing them to make the ultimate choice. I also encourage my patients to play an active role in their care, and I try to enable that in whatever way I can. I am originally from Sierra Leone and moved to the United States after high school.
