I will walk you through any hurdles regarding your condition. | Why I entered medicine | I entered medicine because I wanted to be a problem solver. I discovered in medicine numerous opportunities to improve a patient’s quality of life. | Community involvement | I support the Epilepsy Foundation. My approach to charitable involvement is that it must remain private. The reward is not associated with recognition, but with the fruits of the contribution. | Personal interests | I am an avid reader and a pathological hoarder of books. I like to travel. I have never been the athletic type, but discovered I like CrossFit, even if I struggle a bit to keep up.

Seizures can also lead to disability and death. | I strive to obtain seizure-freedom in all patients, while trying to minimize any side-effects. I promise to get to know you and understand what your main concern is. In return, I ask that you do your best to share all thoughts, concerns, and questions openly with me, and that you strive to make all you appointments, so that I can best serve you. | I will do my best to relieve these symptoms with no harm, with the goal to help you return to your normal lifestyle. | Why I entered medicine | As a child, I was always fascinated by doctors at my appointments. This ultimately led me to pursue the field of medicine. I initially planned on being a family medicine doctor and returning to my small hometown. However, no matter how best we think we have our future planned out, something always comes along that pulls us in another direction. | During my medical school rotations, I found my neurology rotation to be the most interesting, which led me to a neurology residency. While in my neurology training, I had the experience of seeing epilepsy patients being monitored in the hospital. This could take 1-2 weeks, which allowed me to get to know these people. | I was able to feel their frustration of how single events that lasted only 1-5 minutes were enough to control their entire lives. This led me to the field of epilepsy, of which I now focus my full efforts. | Community involvement | I am actively involved with the local Epilepsy Foundation. | Personal interests | I am a fan of many forms of music from Classical to Big Band, Folk, 40s - 90s, Broadway and movie soundtracks, Disney music, and others. I enjoy animation art, especially the original form of animation cels (celluloids) which were used up until the 1990's.
