Dr. John Shank is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle injuries. He has treated high school, college, and professional athletes, including Olympic medalists and players from the MLB, NFL, and NHL. Dr. Shank has served as foot and ankle consultant for the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos, and currently consults for the Olympic Training Center and Colorado College. He subsequently returned to Detroit as Chief of Foot and Ankle Surgery in the Department of Orthopedics at Wayne State University and Chief of Orthopedics at the VA Medical Center where he was twice awarded the Teacher of the Year Award. Dr. Leland currently serves as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Colorado and received the Colonel Alan Bucknell Award for Teacher of the Year in 2020.
