Dr. Terry D. Amaral
Overview
Dr. Amaral is an Associate Chief of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at Cohen s Childrens Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Orthopaedics at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He focuses on scoliosis and pediatric spine surgery, hip reconstruction, fractures, sports medicine, and pediatric foot and ankle disorders.
Dr. Amaral received his undergraduate degree at the University of Rhode Island and his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in the Bronx, NY. He completed his internship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University/ Montefiore Medical Center and fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery/New York Hospital/ Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York, NY.
He is a fellow of the Scoliosis Research Society, Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also a member of the American Medical Association. He is involved in clinical research in pediatric orthopaedics and has published and presented at conferences such as Scoliosis Research Society and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. He is also actively involved in mentoring and teaching medical students and residents.
