Dr. Laura Olivieri

Adam Christopher, MD, is a pediatric cardiologist and is certified in cardiovascular disease and pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is the director of cardiac MRI and CT at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and is an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his pediatrics residency at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital followed by his cardiology fellowship at UPMC Children’s. He also completed an advanced imaging fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Dr. Christopher’s clinical interests include non-invasive 3-dimensional imaging of complex congenital heart disease, and his research interests include novel MRI techniques to minimize the need for sedation as well as to better visualize complex flow patterns in congenital heart disease. He has published several peer reviewed manuscripts on topics pertaining to pediatric cardiology and has received several awards for his service as a physician and in the military, including the Order of Military Medical Merit in 2018 and the Master Clinician Award in 2020. At UPMC Children’s, Dr. Dobson will direct Cardiology Clinical Operations, working directly with the Heart Institute, the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute, and hospital leadership to support program development and strengthen existing services.
