Dr. Sukesh C. Burjonroppa

Dr. Khurram Ahmad worked as a Interventional Cardiologist at Beaumont and Henry Ford Systems in Michigan for 7 years before moving to Texas. He also served as the teaching faculty for the Oakwood Hospital cardiovascular Fellowship. He earned his medical degree with honors from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan before coming to the United States in 2004. He is a fellowship-trained interventional cardiologist with certification in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, cardiac CT, and interventional cardiology. Dr. Ahmad's areas of special interest include coronary interventions, congestive heart failure, peripheral vascular disease, and vascular interpretations. In addition to his numerous board-certifications, he also has advanced training as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).Dr. Ahmad completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, where he served as chief resident during his final year of training and as chief cardiology fellow while pursuing his fellowship training. Dr. Ahmad completed an additional interventional cardiology fellowship at Michigan State University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Ahmad relocated to North Texas in 2019. Justin Martin, M.D., is originally from Wichita Falls. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and graduated as the class Valedictorian. He completed his medical internship and residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, and his general cardiology fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.Martin subsequently moved to Kansas City, where he received specialized training in percutaneous coronary and peripheral vascular intervention (balloon and stent angioplasty to open blocked arteries in the heart, legs, kidneys and neck) at the Mid America Heart Institute.Martin is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. His professional interests are related to the non-invasive and invasive management of peripheral arterial and coronary artery disease.Martin is married and has two children. Parin Parikh, M.D., FACC, is a native Texan, having grown up in Plano and attended Plano Senior High School. He graduated from Yale University in New Haven, Conn., with honors and obtained his medical degree at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. He stayed in New York to complete his general and interventional cardiology fellowship at NYU Langone Medical Center, where he served as chief fellow in interventional cardiology.Parikh is one of the only cardiologists in North Texas to obtain six board certifications: interventional cardiology, cardiovascular medicine, internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and registered physician in vascular interpretation. He also has advanced training in complex coronary and peripheral stenting and interventions. Parikh has special training in performing cardiac catheterization procedures from the wrist (radial artery catheterization), which can be safer and more comfortable for patients than the traditional femoral (groin) approach. Currently, less than five percent of the procedures in the United States are being performed using this new, innovative approach.Parikh also has specialty training in non-invasive cardiac and vascular imaging, including echocardiography, stress tests, nuclear medicine and peripheral vascular ultrasound studies. His areas of clinical expertise include coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease (including diabetic ulcers), critical limb ischemia, valvular heart disease, venous disease, cardiac arrhythmias, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.
