Dr. Eichberg was awarded the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute research fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology investigating therapies for brain tumors.Dr. Eichberg completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of Miami, where he was selected for the National Institutes of Health T32 grant and the Neurosurgery Research and Education Foundation Research Fellowship Grant for glioblastoma research. Before he completed his training, he served as Chief Resident for the Department of Neurosurgery. Dr. Eichberg also completed a Neurosurgical Oncology fellowship at the University of Miami, focused on minimally invasive brain tumor surgery techniques.Dr. Eichberg has published over 130 peer-reviewed publications focused on the clinical, translational, and basic science of brain tumor biology and surgical treatment.To me, the most gratifying part of my profession is the meaningful connections I make with my patients, and to see them healthy and feeling better after surgery, he says.
