Peter Carlos Gerszten, MD, MPH, FACS, is the Peter E. Sheptak Professor of Neurological Surgery and Radiation Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He specializes in spinal oncology and minimally invasive approaches to spinal disorders, including spine radiosurgery, and kyphoplasty. Dr. Gerszten is board-certified in neurological surgery. He received an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. He completed a medical degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore. Dr. Gerszten completed a residency in neurosurgery at UPMC, and a fellowship in spine surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
