I chose to specialize in pancreatic cancer for a variety of reasons. It is a complex and aggressive disease that requires surgical and medical management based on innovative research. In addition, providing surgical treatment for pancreatic cancer demands great technical skills, and effective treatment requires a team of experts with access to the most sophisticated technology available.

At Perlmutter Cancer Center, we perform more than 100 Whipple procedures—a complex surgery for cancer in the head of the pancreas—each year with outstanding outcomes.
