Dr. Andrew J. Bukowinski

Scott Maurer, MD, is a pediatric palliative care physician and a pediatric oncologist. Dr. Maurer is certified in pediatrics, pediatric hematology/oncology, and hospice and palliative medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is the chief of the division of palliative medicine and supportive care at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and is an associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Society for Neuro-Oncology, Children’s Oncology Group, and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium. His wife is a pediatric cardiologist at UPMC Children’s and has an interest in long term cardiac outcomes for oncology patients. Together they have two girls and a beagle mutt.
