Overview
Dr. Ketterer is an infectious disease physician primarily focused on the treatment and prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. Dr. Ketterer is committed to improving the quality of healthcare for LGBTQ+ and Poly/Kink populations. Taking his time with patients builds trust, creating an open, empathetic, and honest dialogue that is essential for delivering the best health care outcomes. - New treatments for HIV, PreP (Pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV), Post-exposure prophylaxis for HIV, and risk-directed STD screening and treatment.
- Eliminating false historical penicillin and antibiotic allergies reducing the risks of resistant organisms and improve patient survival in hospital settings.
- Making sex safer for the Metro-Atlanta community through better education, early detection, and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases.
- Addressing and reducing racial, gender, and sexual orientation disparities in the healthcare system.
Dr. Ketterer served as the Chair of the Piedmont Atlanta Hospital Ethics Committee from 2017 to 2020 and enjoys working on cases involving complex medical and ethical issues. He was also involved with Piedmont Atlanta's Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI) committee and helped to devise new hospital protocols which decreased the incidence of CAUTI by over 50%.
He is a fundraiser and cyclist for both the Atlanta HIV Vaccine 200 and AIDS Lifecycle raising over $10,000 and covering over 2,100 miles in the last 3 years in support of these organizations. He also enjoys writing sketch comedy, building gaming PCs, scuba diving, escape rooms, and cheering on the Atlanta Hawks with the 6th Man Squad.
