My goal as a cardiologist is to understand my patients as people so that I can provide them with information important for making their own decisions about how to prevent disease and promote health. Using this approach, I enjoy taking care of patients interested in preventing heart attacks, patients who have suffered heart attacks, patients with cholesterol and blood pressure disorders, and patients with heart failure. I am a cardiologist at Duke Cardiology of Raleigh. I specialize in interventional cardiology and perform procedures at Duke University Hospital and Duke Raleigh Hospital. The part about my job that I enjoy the most is being able to intervene on different cardiac issues a patient might face. I help people with blockages in different arteries and other heart disease complications in hopes of improving their quality of life. It has always been a dream of mine to go into medicine. I think it was a combination of the joy of science and having a positive impact on patients’ lives. Patients aren’t just another number or case, but a mother, father, grandchild and they deserve the best care we can offer them. I’m originally from Florida and did some training in Boston before completing my training at Duke where I’ve stayed ever since.
