Dr. Pankaj K. Vyas

As a family medicine physician assistant, I love getting to know and caring for each person in the family. A lot of medicine is understanding what is most important to patients. I believe great patient care begins with listening well and then working together to make the best plan of care possible. It is a great honor and privilege to have patients trust me with their medical care. I really enjoy preventive care. My goal is to have my patients live the healthiest lives possible and enable them to do what they enjoy doing. In my previous career, I worked in the fast-paced tech world as an engineer. But, I found that I wanted to be in the community helping care for people, especially those that were not getting care. I still strive to put those problem-solving skills and background to good use! In my spare time, you can find me with my guitar, singing, exploring the outdoors, hiking, enjoying outdoor and travel photography, and cheering on my Texas Longhorns and, now, Duke Blue Devils!. I have been in practice at Duke Primary Care Butner-Creedmoor for seven years. I spent my first career practicing medicine in the U.S. Air Force. I was privileged to serve my country and now feel privileged to work in the Duke health system. I went into family medicine because I enjoy getting to know my patients and seeing them over the long term. I enjoy all aspects of family medicine and enjoy seeing all ages. I especially enjoy chronic illness management and sports medicine. I hope to spend the rest of my medical career being a family medicine physician for Duke Primary Care.
