Dr. Robin Mathews
Overview
I am a former New Yorker who stayed at Duke after I completed my fellowship in advanced cardiology in 2011. I take care of patients across the large spectrum of cardiovascular issues, from patients who are newly symptomatic and need evaluation and diagnosis to patients who have chronic conditions or diseases that need long term care or multiple follow-ups. I also see patients with a family history of heart disease who are interested in lifestyle changes and medicines that may minimize their risk of heart disease in the future. As a cardiologist, I feel it is my goal is to educate my patients about their heart health and to provide information about medicines, therapies, procedures and lifestyle habits that can help them play an active role in their health care. I believe that taking a detailed medical history, and spending time getting to know my patients on a personal level, are fundamental to the development of an individual plan of care.
