Andrew Sylvester, MD, is a fellowship-trained neurologist with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG) with more than 20 years of experience in multiple sclerosis (MS) care and research. Board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and certified in neural repair and rehabilitation, Dr. Sylvester specializes in the care and symptom management of patients with neuroimmunological diseases including MS, NMOSD, MOGAD, myasthenia gravis, neurosarcoidosis, Sjögren’s syndrome, and other autoimmune central nervous system diseases. He believes in providing personalized, comprehensive care while keeping the patient informed and at the center of their care plan.After earning his medical degree at Mount Sinai-Icahn School of Medicine in New York City, Dr. Sylvester performed his neurology residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He then completed a fellowship in multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. Prior to joining AMG, he served as the medical director of a comprehensive care center for multiple sclerosis in New Jersey.Dr. Sylvester has been the principal investigator or sub-investigator in many clinical research trials of drugs used to treat MS patients, has authored several publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and given invited talks and presentations on immunotherapy or chemotherapy to treat multiple sclerosis or myasthenia gravis.Dr. Sylvester is on the international advisory board of the American Academy of Neurology and a member of the American Academy of Neurology.
