Brian R. Hamlin, MD, is a graduate of The University of Texas-Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. He completed his residency training in orthopaedic surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. After completion of his military obligation to the United States Air Force, he pursued a fellowship in adult reconstruction at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. From 2006 to 2010, he served as head of the section of adult reconstruction for the Department of Orthopaedics at West Virginia University School of Medicine. Dr. Hamlin joined The Bone and Joint Center at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC in 2010. He is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. His clinical practice encompasses all aspects of care to the adult hip and knee, including complex primary and revision surgery. Dr. Hamlin has published and presented numerous research projects in advancement of joint replacement, including the examination of new techniques and technologies, and the long term survivorship of implants.
