Overview
Andrew Berggren, MD, FACC is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease and believes in caring for patients with comprehensive, quality healthcare. Dr. Berggren's primary goal is to improve your quality of life, stabilize your condition and help you address the fundamental and root causes of your heart disease. He specializes in nuclear cardiology and his professional interests include general cardiology, echocardiography and congestive heart failure. Dr. Berggren has extensive training in diagnostic imaging and holds a certification from the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology. He also served with the United States Air Force as a staff physician at Sheppard Air Force Base Hospital where he held administrative appointments as Clinical Director of Internal Medicine, Chie of Internal Medicine, and Medical Director of the Intensive Care Unit. Jorge Cheirif, M.D., was born and raised in Mexico City. He obtained his medical degree from the National University of Mexico and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.Cheirif is the director of the non-invasive cardiology lab, medical director of the Hispanic Initiative, and immediate past president and director of the Behavioral Event Review Committee (BERC) at Texas Health Dallas. He also serves as chair of the Heart & Vascular Accreditation Case Manager (HV-ACM) strategy committee. He is board-certified in cardiovascular diseases and internal medicine, focusing on consultative cardiology, echocardiography, CT angiography and cardiac catheterization.Cheirif was on the American Heart Association local affiliate board of directors for two years; has received the Clinician Scientist Award from the American Heart Association; and was named Teacher of the Year by Ochsner Clinic, Texas Health Dallas, and Baylor College of Medicine. In addition, he has been named to Best Doctors in Dallas and Texas Super Doctors for 10 years. Cheirif speaks Spanish, Yiddish and Hebrew, and lives in Dallas with his wife, Heidy. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Saint Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., with a bachelor's degree in biology before going on to receive his M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Duke University in Durham, N.C., and fellowships in cardiology and advanced multimodality cardiovascular imaging at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.Dr. Dickson's areas of special interest include cardiovascular risks in women after menopause, echocardiography, cardiovascular imaging, ambulatory monitoring and exercise testing. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, American Society for Preventive Cardiology and North American Society for Cardiovascular Imaging. When not caring for the heart-health needs of his patients, Dr. Dickson enjoys jogging, skiing, scuba diving and playing the trumpet. .
