Dr. Dennis Finkielstein
Overview
Dr. Finkielstein serves as the Associate Chairman of the Department of Cardiology at Lenox Hill Hospital, the Director of the Cardiovascular Disease Service Line for Southern Manhattan, for Northwell Health, and the Director of Cardiology for the Cardiovascular Disease Specialists at 7 Seventh Avenue, Northwell Health Physician Partners. He spent his early career at Mount Sinai Beth Israel where he served as the Associate Chairman of the Department of Cardiology, the Program Director of the Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease, and the Director of Ambulatory Cardiology and Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Imaging for over 14 years. He received his undergraduate education and medical training at the Johns Hopkins University. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. He has recognized expertise in Echocardiography and Vascular Imaging. He has a true passion for medical education and has trained over 100 cardiovascular fellows over the years. His research interests are diverse. He has served as the principal investigator for several national/international clinical trials resulting in numerous manuscripts with a special focus on advanced lipid management, cardiac amyloidosis, the direct oral anticoagulants, recurrent pericarditis. He holds the academic rank of Associate Professor of Medicine at the Barbara and Donald Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
