Overview
Loida Bonney, M.D., M.P.H., earned her undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and her medical degree at the State University of New York Health Sciences Center. She completed her internal medicine and pediatrics residency at Rhode Island Hospital and the Hasbro Children's Hospital. Dr. Bonney went on to attend Columbia University obtaining a Master's in Public Health. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Bonney worked in a variety of healthcare settings. She was an assistant professor of medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine. Her interest is in health disparities among underserved populations. In her spare time, Dr. Bonney enjoys jogging and going to parks and outings with family and friends.

Dr. Kakarala earned her bachelor's degree cum laude, from Washington University in Saint Louis, double majoring in biology and anthropology. She earned her medical degree from the University of South Florida where she graduated in the top third of her class. Dr. Kakarala completed her residency at Rush Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, and Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians Group, Dr. Kakarala was in practice at Melbourne Internal Medicine Associates in Florida where she earned the Member Satisfaction with Primary Care Physicians award two years in a row. Dr. Kakarala believes that establishing personal relationships with her patients is important and enjoys the continuous learning opportunities that practicing modern medicine provides.
