As a resident of central Pennsylvania, he is committed to serving his community by giving the best care he possibly can.|In 2007, Dr. Mackley received the Radiological Society of North America’s Resident/Fellow Research Award to recognize his superior research efforts as a resident.|He has published several papers and participated in many research projects. He is an advisory board member for the journal Applied Radiation Oncology and has served as a reviewer for 10 other journals.|Dr. Mackley is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society for Radiation Oncology, American College of Radiation Oncology, American Medical Association and American Society of Clinical Oncology. He is vice chair and a trustee of the Pennsylvania Medical Society and has served as president of the Dauphin County Medical Society. Dr. Mackley is an investigator in the cancer therapy evaluation group of the National Cancer Institute and the Children’s Oncology Group. He is a fellow of the American College of Radiation Oncology and a member of Penn State College of Medicine’s mentoring academy.|In his free time, Dr. Mackley enjoys spending time with his family, hiking and camping.
