Dr. David P. Moss is an assistant clinical professor of orthopaedic surgery at The George Washington University Medical Center and an orthopaedic surgeon at Sibley Memorial Hospital. He practices out of Washington Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, located in Sibley Memorial Hospital’s Medical Building and Chevy Chase, MD. Dr. Moss earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases at New York University, followed by a fellowship in hand surgery at The Curtis National Hand Center. Dr. Moss is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the president of the Washington D.C. Hand Society. He is also the secretary/treasurer for the Osler Medical Society and a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He was a hand surgeon for the Washington Capitals and Washington Mystics, as well as an associate team physician for the Washington Nationals. Dr. Moss was also an on-site physician for the New York Mets, a performance physician for Martha Graham and Alvin Ailey Dance Companies and a physician for the U.S. National Archery Championships. Dr. Moss has research interests in tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome and post-operative pain relief. Upon his return, he completed a one-year Hand and Upper Extremity fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. in conjunction with the Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore, MD.Dr. Shrout has been practicing in orthopaedic surgery since 1994, and retired from the U.S. Army in 2011 at the rank of Colonel. He has been in private practice in the Washington area since 2011, and has maintained his involvement in orthopaedic sports medicine by participating as a team physician for the D.C. United Men’s professional soccer team, and Head Team Physician for the D.C. United Women’s team in 2012. In 2013 he served as Head Team Physician for the inaugural season of the National Women’s Soccer League professional team, the Washington Spirit. He also has a particular interest in the treatment and prevention of sports related injuries of the upper extremity.
