Dr. Matthew Delarosa is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hand, wrist, and elbow surgery. He provides both surgical and nonsurgical treatment to improve function and reduce pain. Originally from Baton Rouge, LA, Dr. Delarosa completed medical school and orthopedic training at LSUHSC New Orleans. He then further specialized in Hand and Microsurgery at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, NC under the direction of Dr. Glenn Gaston. In addition to the full spectrum of routine upper extremity problems, a significant portion of his fellowship training concentrated on brachial plexus and complex peripheral nerve injuries. Additionally, he traveled to Florianopolis, Brazil to study under Dr. Jayme Bertelli, an expert in peripheral nerve injuries, brachial plexus injuries, and tendon transfers. He is also interested in improving function of upper extremity amputees through targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR) and the use of a myoelectric prosthesis. Through his work in congenital, brachial plexus, and amputee specialty clinics he has gained a wealth of knowledge on the multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

A Colorado native, he graduated from Overland High School in Aurora where he was awarded the Bausch & Lomb Science Award for his “Excellent Promise in the Field of Science.” He went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in molecular biology from the University of Denver and graduated Cum Laude.
