Dr. Aleem Mirza

Dr. Aleem Mirza is a board-certified vascular surgeon with the Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute. Dr. Mirza’s Training Dr. Mirza earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk. He completed a residency in integrated vascular surgery at the Mayo Clinic Rochester School of Graduate Medical Education in Minnesota. During his final year, he became the first vascular surgical trainee to be awarded an academic appointment as Instructor of Surgery at Mayo Clinic Rochester. He was also involved in the vascular training programs, mentoring and training residents and fellows, and moderating several educational conferences. About Dr. Mirza He is certified in vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the American Medical Association. Dr. Mirza has published over 60 peer-reviewed papers and editorials, authored several book chapters, and delivered more than 50 presentations at the regional, national and international levels. Before joining Orlando Health, Dr. Mirza was recruited to the University of Texas Houston to join the complex aortic program as an assistant professor of surgery at McGovern Medical School. He participated in the implantation of investigation devices used for the repair of complex aortic pathology. Dr. Mirza is an Orlando native and enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, cooking, traveling and being outdoors.
