Both of Dr. Chereen Stroup’s parents are physicians, so she grew up with the world of medicine a big part of her life. She sometimes went with her parents on hospital rounds on the weekends, read medical journals that were laying around the house, and remember evenings in the call room on the OB floor waiting for her mom while she was busy delivering babies. Even as a small child, Dr. Stroup knew a career in health care was what she wanted to do. One of the things she loves about family medicine specifically, is that as a family physician, she has the training to take care of all ages, so she can care for the entire family. Dr. Stroup has several families where she has the privilege to care for four generations! She feels like knowing her patient's family helps her to know and understand them better as a person, to take care of them in a more holistic way, and to more completely understand their medical history.
