David Hsu, MD, PhD, is a neurologist at UW Health where he also serves as the director of the Pediatric Epilepsy Clinic as well as a professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Neurology. His work includes understanding why shunts used to treat hydrocephalus (buildup of fluid in the brain) often fail. He also uses data from children with brain injuries to predict how well a child will recover and creates models of the brain’s electrical signals to design a way to prevent seizures.In his free time, Dr. Hsu enjoys playing musical instruments.
