Dr. David M. Bierbrauer

Originally from Seattle, WA, Dr. MacTaggart joined OCC-Cornerstone Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in 2019 after completing advanced training in hand and upper extremity surgery. She specializes in the full range of hand, wrist, and elbow conditions and offers the latest treatments, including fracture care, microvascular surgery, nerve decompression, repair or reconstruction, fusions and replacements, bracing, injections, and arthroscopy. Dr. MacTaggart is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and the American Academy of Hand Surgery. Prior to working at OCC-Cornerstone, Dr. MacTaggart graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA, where she also played on the women’s soccer team. She attended medical school at The University of Washington, graduating magna cum laude and was nominated to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors society. After medical school, Dr. MacTaggart completed her residency training at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. Following residency, she completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at The Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center/Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Robert Leland is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and dual fellowship trained in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery and orthopedic trauma who has practiced in Colorado since 2001. He is one of Colorado’s most experienced Foot and Ankle surgeons and one of the first in the country to perform ankle replacements. Dr. Leland’s treatment centers on thoroughly educating patients about their condition and treatment options so they can best be involved in the decision-making process. He is a member of the Colorado Medical Society, American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Prior to working with OCC, Dr. Leland graduated from the University of Michigan and Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency training at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center. Dr. Leland completed fellowship training in Foot and Ankle Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and Orthopedic Trauma at University Carl Gustav Carus in Dresden, Germany. He subsequently returned to Detroit as Chief of Foot and Ankle Surgery in the Department of Orthopedics at Wayne State University and Chief of Orthopedics at the VA Medical Center where he was twice awarded the Teacher of the Year Award. Dr. Leland currently serves as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Colorado and received the Colonel Alan Bucknell Award for Teacher of the Year in 2020. Dr. Ocel graduated summa cum laude from Creighton University School of Medicine, where he received a Health Professions Scholarship from the U.S. Navy. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago, earning the Weinstein Award as the outstanding chief resident. Following residency, Dr. Ocel served as head of orthopedic surgery at Naval Hospital Corpus Christi and was awarded the Naval-Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his service. He then moved to Sydney, Australia, to complete a foot and ankle fellowship with Dr. Martin Sullivan, caring for many of the country’s top professional and Olympic athletes. He later completed an additional fellowship with Dr. Robert Anderson at the Miller Clinic in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Ocel is a member of the Colorado Medical Society, American Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Society, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He championed barbed suture closure in joint replacement and served on the Angiotech speakers bureau popularizing a now common closure technique. Dr. Eickmann helped design hip and knee replacement implants and some trauma products for Kyocera, a medical device manufacturer. Dr. Eickmann has also designed instruments for Innomed. Dr. Eickmann has had the opportunity to serve as an American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons moderator and critical evaluator, a member of the Adult Reconstruction Knee Program Committee, and a surgical skills trainer. He was also a reviewer for The Journal of Biomedical Materials Research. He has served as the Medical Director of Joint Replacement at Avista Adventist Hospital and Lutheran Hospital. Dr. Eickmann’s has published multiple research articles on hip and knee replacement. His work appears in journals and textbooks relating to joint replacement.
