Dr. Elaine Magat

Dr. Elaine Magat, MD, joined the TIRR Memorial Hermann team of affiliated physicians from the department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Scott and White Healthcare in Temple, Texas, and from Scott and White’s Center for Rehabilitative Medicine in Waco, Texas, where she was assistant medical director. After receiving her medical degree at the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Manila, Philippines, she completed two physical medicine and rehabilitation residencies – one at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City, Philippines, in 2003, where she was chief resident, and the second at the Baylor/UTHealth PM&R Alliance in 2010. Dr. Magat completed her fellowship in brain injury rehabilitation and tone management at the Alliance in 2011. A clinical assistant professor of PM&R at the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth and a diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Magat works at the hospital’s Outpatient Medical Clinic. Services provided by Dr. Magat include outpatient management of persons who have sustained stroke or brain injury and outpatient management of spasticity and post polio. She is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Medical Association.
