Overview
The incidence of both melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancers is on the rise; at the same time, our ability to treat skin cancers has vastly improved. Today there are many strategies for treating skin cancers which include radiation and light based therapy, topical and systemic chemotherapy, conventional surgery, and Mohs micrographic surgery, a highly effective treatment modality for skin cancers with aggressive behavior or located in cosmetically sensitive areas. In my practice, I strive to help my patients understand their diagnosis and work with them and their referring physician to choose an evidence-based therapeutic regimen that is tailored to their particular needs while achieving the highest possible cure rate, and the best functional and cosmetic outcome.
