After completing a research fellowship at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, she trained in neurology in Muenster, Germany. She completed her residency at MUSC where she also served as chief resident. Following fellowship training in movement disorders at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, she joined MUSC's faculty. Dr. Hinson's special interests include the diagnosis and treatment of dystonia, botulinum toxin injections, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, and other movement disorders.
