Dr. Ken Y. Lin is a board-certified UCI Health ophthalmologist who specializes in traditional and minimally invasive cataract surgery and the treatment of glaucoma.His clinical interests include optic nerve and aqueous outflow imaging. He has repeatedly been recognized as a Physician of Excellence by the Orange County Medical Association.Lin completed his medical degree and a National Institutes of Health-sponsored doctoral degree in biophysics at Harvard Medical School in Boston. He completed a residency in ophthalmology at the UCI School of Medicine’s Department of Ophthalmology and Gavin Herbert Eye Institute, where he served as chief resident. He also completed a glaucoma fellowship at the institute.His research interests include the development and clinical evaluation of surgical devices to treat glaucoma and cataracts, including the use of artificial intelligence and fluid mechanics. He is the author and co-author of numerous peer-reviewed papers in leading journals and has contributed chapters to many textbooks.Lin also has been actively involved in physician training, serving on the Young Eye Surgeon clinical committee of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) and the Resident Self-Assessment Committee of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). He also has taught cataract surgery courses and served as a panelist at many national and international meetings.
