As a board-certified interventional cardiologist, Dr. Banerjee is internationally recognized for his expertise in minimally invasive treatments of coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease and transcatheter aortic valve replacement. He is currently serving as the Paul J. Thomas Endowed Chair in Cardiology and chief of cardiovascular research and innovation for Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Services-Dallas. Dr. Banerjee is the editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Cardiology, one of the premier cardiology journals in the world. He also serves as one of the founding directors of the Cardiovascular Innovations Foundation. Dr. James Choi has been caring for Texas hearts since 2004. He is fellowship-trained in interventional cardiology. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and interventional cardiology. Dr. Choi's areas of clinical interest and focus include cardiovascular disease in diabetic patients; highly complex cardiology interventions: left main coronary artery and chronic total occlusions; valvular heart interventions; structural heart interventions: ASD/PFO/Left atrial appendage closure; and peripheral vascular disease. He has published numerous articles and conducted clinical research on coronary stent implantation and chronic total occlusions as well as novel renal artery denervation treatment for resistant hypertension.Dr. Choi earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, where he also completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology. He is the current medical director of Coronary, Renal and Structural Heart Technologies for the Baylor Research Institute in Dallas. He previously served as an associate professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine in College Station and as the director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.Dr. Choi is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions. He currently chairs the DFW AngioClub and is a member of the American Heart Association, Texas Medical Association and Dallas County Medical Association. Dr. Geetha Ramaswamy was always inspired by her uncle, who practiced family medicine for more than 40 years. After serving North Texas communities for several years, Dr. Ramaswamy spent more than a decade in Northern Arkansas as a trailblazer in the fields of radial interventional cardiology, women’s heart care and heart valve treatments. She returned to the DFW area in 2021 to continue her work in interventional/structural cardiology.Dr. Ramaswamy earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Chennai Medical College in India. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Dr. Ramaswamy completed her clinical cardiology fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital-Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo.She is also fellowship trained in advanced nuclear cardiology and interventional cardiology through Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn.Dr. Ramaswamy is fluent in the Tamil and Hindi languages. When not with her patients, she enjoys meditating and the practice of yoga to strengthen not only her physical being but also for the mental strength and emotional balance they provide.
