Overview
Matthew T. Connell, D.O., FACOG, earned his doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to complete his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Missouri and completed his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Connell has published numerous peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts, book chapters, and review articles in many leading scientific journals, and has been invited to present and consult nationally in the fields of endocrinology, infertility, and reproductive immunology. Dr. Connell is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as a member of numerous medical organizations. His clinical interests include all aspects of male and female infertility with specific focus on recurrent pregnancy loss, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), premature ovarian insufficiency, diminished ovarian reserve, endometriosis, and fertility preservation. As an avid researcher, Dr. Hill has contributed to hundreds of publications and presentations exploring topics such in vitro fertilization (IVF) protocols and outcomes and frozen embryo transfers, among many others. Dr. Segars received his undergraduate degree from Duke University and earned his M.D. from Duke University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology and a clinical fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Segars performed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Laboratory of Molecular Growth Regulation at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. He joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2015. Before coming to Johns Hopkins, Dr. Segars was head of the Unit on Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and a professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Dr. Segars has published more than 160 peer-reviewed research articles and serves on the editorial boards of Reproductive Sciences, Molecular Human Reproduction, Seminars in Reproductive Medicine, and Fertility and Sterility.
