Dr. Sanjay Maniar is a cardiovascular specialist who was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering and Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies at Rice University in Houston, Texas prior to returning home to the University of Alabama School of Medicine for his medical degree. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and his cardiology fellowship at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. Dr. Maniar is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine, Echocardiography and Nuclear Medicine. He has been recognized as a Top Doctor in Cardiology by Houstonia Magazine (2020, 2021). He serves as the Medical Director of Cardiovascular Imaging and Cardiac Rehabilitation and Chair of the Cardiology Section at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. Growing up with a father diagnosed with heart disease at a young age, Dr. Maniar understands the importance of preventing heart disease, listening to his patients, and developing a collaborative care plan to achieve the best outcomes possible. Dr. Maniar offers a complete scope of diagnostic testing, treatment and procedures.
