I study and provide care for children and adults with primary immune defects, such as those with severe combined immune deficiency disease, humoral immune defects, and those with phagocytic cell deficiency diseases. I am the primary investigator on NIH funded projects that address the immune dysregulation present in patients with persistent viral infection, specifically chronic human papillomavirus infection, that prevents control or eradication of recurrent HPV infection in patients with recurrent respiratory papillomatosis.
