About Dr. Hu Dr. Hu is board certified in pediatric hematology-oncology and general pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. His professional memberships include the Children's Oncology Group, American Society of Pediatric Hematology Oncology, American Society of Hematology, American Association for Cancer Research and American Academy of Pediatrics. With his specific training in benign and malignant hematology research, Dr. Hu is passionate about developing new, targeted leukemia and anti-tumor therapies, including immune and cellular therapies. He has participated in several funded research projects during his post-doctoral training and his career as an assistant professor at the University of Florida. His main focus is clinical and translational research to improve treatments for pediatric leukemia, lymphoma, and other benign pediatric blood disorders and cancers. Dr. Hu also has received formal training through the Quality Training Program by the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He is actively involved in quality improvement projects to enhance patient care and enjoys teaching residents. Dr. Hu has held academic appointments, most recently as an assistant professor in the oncology department hospitalist medicine program at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and in the pediatrics department at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, both in Memphis.
