Overview
I focus on treating patients with head and neck cancer, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, and maxillofacial trauma. I also have interests in microvascular (free flap) reconstruction, transoral robotic surgery, salivary endoscopy and medical education. I was privileged to do my residency training here at Duke and look forward to bringing my energy, dedication and leadership to our group.

Clinical Research
Clinical research consists of overseeing clinical studies of patients undergoing new treatments and therapies, and publishing articles in peer reviewed medical journals. My interest in surgery came from a fascination in our ability to interrupt a disease process and the body’s ability to heal. I have dedicated my practice to surgical oncology of the breast, as I am passionate about helping women understand this complex and extremely personal diagnosis. Having walked through breast cancer with a family member, I recognize the importance of accurate risk assessment and informed decision making tailored to one’s own principles of health and wholeness. I am committed to providing compassionate care, alleviating fears of the unknown, and listening to the needs of my patients to obtain the best possible outcome.
