Overview
Dr. Charles L. Brown earned his undergraduate degree from the University of New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana. He earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed his internship, residency and fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology with Emory University Affiliated Hospitals. During his cardiovascular disease fellowship, he served as chief resident of medicine and he fulfilled an additional fellowship in peripheral angioplasty at the Red Cross Hospital in Frankfurt, Germany. Dr. Brown is board-certified in cardiovascular diseases, internal medicine, and interventional cardiology. He is also a member of numerous professional societies, including Alpha Omega Alpha, the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the American Heart Association, the Medical Association of Atlanta and the Medical Association of Georgia.

Arun Krishnamoorthy, MD, earned his undergraduate degrees from the University of Georgia and his medical degree from Emory University in 2007. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas in 2010, also serving as a Chief Medicine Resident from 2010-2011. He completed his clinical and research fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease at Duke University and at the Duke Clinical Research Institute in 2015, with additional sub-specialty training in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology from 2015-2016 also at Duke University. Dr. Krishnamoorthy is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. In his spare time, Dr. Krishnamoorthy enjoys ultimate frisbee, Atlanta college and professional sports, travel, and spending time with family. Dr. Krishnamoorthy welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans. After serving as an assistant clinical professor of medicine at Yale between 1986 and 1989 he moved to Atlanta and joined the staff of Piedmont Hospital, where he has practiced since that time. Dr. Deering is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians and the Heart Rhythm Society. Dr. Deering has participated in a number of arrhythmia research trials and remains active in cardiac arrhythmia research. He serves as a reviewer for several major cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology journals. He has authored or co-authored numerous articles on a variety of arrhythmia-related topics. He has served as a speaker and moderator at many national and international cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology meetings. He is an active member of the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS); has served on a number of HRS committees and task forces; and presently serves as chair of the HRS Membership Committee. Dr. Deering's primary area of interest is centered upon the diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmias and the treatment and education of patients with cardiac arrhythmias and congestive heart failure. He currently is in practice with the Piedmont Heart Institute Physicians group and based at the Piedmont Hospital campus. He does see patients in a number of arrhythmia outreach clinics at several additional Piedmont Heart Institute locations.
