I became a family nurse practitioner with the goal of partnering with my patients to improve their overall health. As a member of the Duke Cancer Institute Lung Screening Program with over 30 years of experience in health care, my priorities focus on providing compassionate care, health promotion, education about disease prevention, providing strategies and motivation for smoking cessation and encouragement to make healthier lifestyle choices to improve their overall quality of life. Outside of work, I enjoy running, traveling with my husband, Steelers football and spending time with our three daughters and their families. I am passionate about caring for patients with primary brain and spinal cord tumors. I am interested in long-term survivorship education of my patients and I also have a passion for teaching and mentoring future health care professionals.
