Overview
I became a family nurse practitioner with the goal of partnering with my patients to improve their overall health. As a member of the Duke Cancer Institute Lung Screening Program with over 30 years of experience in health care, my priorities focus on providing compassionate care, health promotion, education about disease prevention, providing strategies and motivation for smoking cessation and encouragement to make healthier lifestyle choices to improve their overall quality of life. Outside of work, I enjoy running, traveling with my husband, Steelers football and spending time with our three daughters and their families.

I am driven to help them in any capacity that I can. Outside of work, my husband Chad and kids, Hunter and Libby, motivate me to be the best I can. They are the light of my life. I value establishing relationships with patients and their families and making sure they are getting the same treatment, including symptom management, that I would want my family to receive. Open and honest communication with patients is important to me. I enjoy educating patients and advocating for them to ensure that their needs are met in a timely fashion. I am interested in long-term survivorship education of my patients and I also have a passion for teaching and mentoring future health care professionals.
