Overview
Dr. Gohar is a board-certified advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist with an interest in cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support, VA-ECMO and infiltrative diseases of the heart. He is also trained in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. After completing his General Cardiology fellowship at Virginia Tech Carillon School of Medicine, Dr. Gohar received additional advanced training in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation at the Texas Heart Institute/Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Gohar has been the PI on multiple clinical studies and has served on various committees and leadership roles during his career including associate medical director of the Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant program at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple. He is currently serving as Medical Director of Advanced Cardiology and Chair of Cardiology at Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center - Fort Worth. His areas of interest include Cardiogenic Shock, Mechanical Circulatory Support devices, Infiltrative Cardiomyopathies, Familial Cardiomyopathy and Palliative Care in End Stage Heart failure.
In his free time, he loves to spend time with his family as well as pursuing philosophical quests involving the nature of reality, consciousness, on being human and ontological quandaries around the existence of a "human soul" through quantum conceptualizations and the role of Prefrontal Cortex.
