She completed her medical doctorate at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus where she won several awards including the Gottesfeld Memorial Award for Overall Outstanding Student Performance and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency and her Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus where she won awards for her research in the field of thyroidology.
