In prior studies, Dr. Savona has addressed issues such as tobacco dependency and smoking cessation, redeveloping life styles and physical activity levels after completion of chemotherapy, the prevention of infections in patients with impaired immunity and prevention of hot flashes in patients on hormonal therapy. Dr. Savona earned his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. He completed both his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in Medical Oncology/Hematology at New York University Medical Center. Dr. Savona is an active member of the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
